Photo with a grid printed out

I want to put a grid ontop of a photo, in order to /copydraw it on a canvas.

I have tried a danish edition and pressed: VIS = (show) and then: Vis gitter = (Show grid)

I am danish an 85 years and notsure of MY translations.

you could try Filter / Other / Grid generator, eventualy on a transparent layer.
