How do I feather the edge of a graphic

Hi,
I'm wanting to make Wallpapers with this program and I'm wondering is there any tool to feather the edge an image with?

Basically it's to make wallpapers.

You know how they have one image fade around the edges so it matches the background, or it fades into another image? Like that.
If I could I'd post an example but sadly I can't find anything here to do that; or I'm not sure how to do that. If someone can show me how to cut and past and image into the response thing here then it'd be GREATLY appreciated.

But basically I need to be able to fade the edges of an image into another image, so that they go together well.

Hi,

to fade the edges of a cut-off you can try the menu : Edit / Optimized clipping when you've drawn a selection around the piece to copy/paste.
Try a look too on the tutorials of the official site of PhotoFiltre : http://photofiltre.free.fr/
But the site is out of order at this moment, try later.

No way to copy and paste a picture in a response window, you need to host your picture on a dedicated web site,
and then you can copy and paste the picture's link into the response window.

Okay, that's good to know about pasting the picture. I thought I was missing something.

Well, I tried your suggestion; it's not perfect but it's close to what I was looking for.

Is there any way to have the image fade to the color of the new background?
I tried the link you gave and sadly, as you said, it's still out. >-P!

But thanks anyway, and it did work; in a real tight pinch! I just need to be able to make the edges a bit more of a blurred transition, and have bit better control over it. *shrug!*
But it does work, and you did get what I was looking for !

It's a lot better now. Hopefully this will give me a fairly easy way to figure out if I can do a "Feathered Edge" like you can in Photoshop.

I don't know if you can do a "Feathered Edge" with PF6 like you can in Photoshop, but you can have a correct result.

With the Studio (shareware, 30 days free) release you have more tools to refine the edges of layers with progressive contours.
The eraser tool may also use progressive contours.
