How to reduce the file size of a picture

I have to reduce the size of a digital picture from 9.0 Mb to 240Kb Max.
I took this picture by my sony camera 12.1 MB.

Hi,
there are two steps to consider.

The last one to begin : target 240 kb max
when you try to save images of different sizes , you can see a preview button which gives the File size.
With 98% you have a rather good level of compression and the different tests show that an image of 750x500 pixels
gives a compressed JPEG under 240 kb.

Now the first step : a right clic on the image : Image size
set the unit in pixels and enter 750 for the width value

And change picture quality.

80 percent = good quality and less file size.

But for future better is saving high quality pictures. Reduced pictures are good for internet presentations.

No sorry, 80 percent is not a good quality. More than 90 percent yes.
