How to move a selected area inside a picture?

Assume I selected a part of the currently edited picture.
A dotted rectangle is now shown.
How can I move this selected area inside the image to another place?

This procedure moves the rectangle but NOT the content INSIDE?

Wouldn't it be smarter if I could select an area and immediately move it around?
Paint Shop Pro (and many other software) offers for example such a feature!

Could you include this feature in the next release?

Hi Peter,
it's a very old discussion, and the answer is definitively NO.
It's smarter and more safe to displace the selection form by this way.
Displace a part of the picture must be a different volontary action.
PhotoFiltre is not like any other softwares
