Hey, I was wondering how I could add this coloring affect in Photofiltre. I have Studio 8.
I want to turn this base into this icon.
See how the colorings are really bright and such? I've tried just making it brighter but that doesn't work, there must be a way to certain colors stand out. Like, the reds/blues really stand out in that icon.
Have you tried adjusting your gamma and your bright/contrast. I always have good results doing this. I am not certain I have understood the question, so I am going with what you have shown. Using layers, you could cut out the person, make the background with clouds, tint it to the color you like, use the hue adjustment, then use the gradient tool in the direction you select with a black to white gradient over the background adjusting the opaque to the values giving you the best result.

Below is the result of selecting the portrait and using the tools and techniques suggested above. I did not use layers, instead I selected the portrait then worked on it. I reversed the selection, and worked on the background. The result is not necessarily better, just my results.
