Help with a gimp tutorial

Hi

I have PFS and it's great. But I can't find a way to do similar effect as in this tutorial http://the3rdage.net/item-118 . Does anyone know how to do it?

Hi,

I don't know why it's difficult to do the same thing with PFS ? Perhaps am i wrong ?
- first image : use it as background layer
- 2° image : you have to select the contour of the personage with the polygon selection tool and paste it as layer N°1 upon the background layer
- 3° image : the result of preview work.
- 4° image : put a light blur effect on layer N° 1 and Edit/Fade to adjust. Then desaturate, or use sepia button
- 5° image : increase saturation
- 6° image : apply Artistic/Comic strips and Edit/fade, eventualy a little relief effect or Sharpen/Sharpen edges
- 7° image : Use erase tool

Thank you, I didn't get the same thing you did with your method but then I colored Layer N°2 with brown(Filter->color->colored layer).
