256 color mode?

Please excuse me if this is in the wrong place. I'm at a bit of a loss here as I don't speak/read french; I took it in high school but it wasen't for the languge.
I've been using Photofilter for a few months. It is my photo editor of choice. But I'm having trouble working TGAs, PF keeps telling me it's not set to 256 color mode. How do I set this, as I can't seem to locate any place to set it?

First you are in the right place

Switching between the different color modes is in the Image/mode menu. For 256 colors you must choose Indexed colors.

Thanks, now I can do tga's. It was the only thing I still was using my old photo editor for. Love Photofilter and have been recommending it for a while now. If I have anymore questions I'll pop in.
